Ahh thanks! I shade and light the hair on separate layers with different settings. Then blur to give the feeling that some strands are "closer". I hope that helps! I'll be making a tutorial later.

i find it hard to make the strands oh why...XC I can't make them soft looking

If you're using paint tool sai, you can use water tool to blur some of the edgy parts of the hair. Blur makes them look too fuzzy but I like the water tool.

I'm using photoshop though hehe I have paint tool sai too but i rarely used it
