Larxy wasn’t always a doll. It is actually an immortal creature of some kind, and its soul is currently trapped in a puppet-doll . It no longer remembers its life before being a doll, but sometimes it gets flashes of memories. Its actual physical body is locked away, asleep somewhere.
Any injuries its physical body endures will be regenerated within 24 hours. Its biggest fears are sleeping, losing consciousness, and/or stasis, because its species can sleep for decades. It’s afraid of losing time, and waking up to everything having changed, especially after its experiences co-existing with mortals.
It would rather endure any amount of pain and suffering than to lose a moment of time again, to have everything it knew destroyed and gone.
