Oh, and bonus points for such sharp, beautiful clarity in a traditional works. People often struggle to achieve this even with all the digital tools at their disposal.

Thank you very much. It makes me really happy to hear that, especially since I made close to no digital touch ups this time. >v<

Rather nice indeed! Good use of shading to give her proper shape, and a rather nice handling of the expression. The hair doesn't disappoint either, the front of the mane in particular looks great. Well done.

I agree with you that this might probably be one of your best traditional artworks so far, and I really think that you did an overall good job on the coloring and the simple, yet fitting background. Especially the lilac parts of Twilight and the magic effect came out great, which is not that easy to do at all - considering the limitations one has to face on traditional artworks. Layers for highlights? pfah :'D All you can have is Opaque White ... or something
Something that's bothering me though is the big contrast between base color and shading on the mane and tail (it's probably my screens fault though). On the photos you uploaded to your tumblr account the colors may have looked a little more dull, yet in my opinion it looked a little smoother and not that "hard" - coloringwise
Pssht... you should add glitter to it. In star shapes. It would probably look fantastic. Not on a scanned version, but in real life o~o

Now this was surprising... o.o Thanks a lot, that's really great to hear! ;v;
Yeah... one thing I really learned is that when drawing traditionally you have to think very well BEFORE drawing. But even then I accidently draw on parts I originally wanted to leave blank. I was only lucky that my pastel pencils were opaque enough to draw over the tail. c': (I don't even own any opaque white that isn't dried out... OTL ... need more money for art supplies.)
The big contrast might not be the fault of your screen but of the scan itself. After all I've made the shading with the exact same colour as the base so it would be weird if it was so much darker. Though anything could be possible considering how bitchy my BV17 was during the 2nd half of the drawing process... |'D But either way, it's smoother in real life, indeed. (The photos are "dull" because of a soft pink filter btw xDD)
Oh yeah glitter sounds nice, sadly I have none... c': and today was my last time being in Dortmund, so no more chances to get anything I suppose. >':

Opaque White is always dried out, you can mix it with watercolors though - to make it pretty much every color you need.
Daww, no glitter .A.

Is that so...? xDD Rather unconvenient for something that comes out of a tube... c':
Naw, no glitter. :C Maybe when I'm back I'll go and pimp her drawing xDDDD Though I'm also kinda afraid of messing around with glue on the drawing.... .__.;

Mine doesn't come out of a tube but in a container (www.copicmarker.com/wp-content… , but sadly it's useless, because it dried up in that container, or more likely its components split up and now I have pigments and solvent in two different phases that won't mix together well .A.;; Meh...
Well, a stencil should help, then with a brush I'd apply the glue and then the glitter. I doubt that there'd go anything wrong o.o

It says "page not found" but well then it makes sense. xD I only know opaque white like this ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I… and if that dries up it's definitely pretty useless. XDD I really really need to get new and proper drawing supplies one day. I mean I've wanted to get some decent white (idek what sort of colour most ppl use for it) to make those famous white sprinkles on my pictures for years already... .v. they're so pretty ;v;
Huh? A stencil? What am I supposed to do with that? o-o;

Ah, because of the bracket at the end >__> Ever since deviantArt updated those links they're buggy as hell.
so, once more html has to save the day >A>
I tried making sprinkles with that one once, and it failed, because it seems to be too viscous.
Not mess up when doing certain shapes like hearts, stars etc when applying the glue? XD

Pretty thing oo I've never bought anything from COPIC that's not either Markers or Multiliners... but then again I haven't had many opportunities to buy COPIC stuff yet...
Oh now I get what you mean xDDD I thought you meant star shaped glitter and not glitter in star shapes xDDD this makes more sense now

It's the only thing outside markers and multiliners that I have from COPIC either.
Star shaped glitter would be a cool thing as well though o: I bet there's some on eBay somewhere!
