Description One of the many concepts I started a while ago. Still need to put people in it.

It's not true to the elevations as it was a design before that in development and well before the 2nd Hobbit film which had their rendition of the hut. Though I did have a behind the scenes shot or two of the set as they were filming.

For the Middle Earth Theme Park design I started my senior year of college.

Thanks! I'm glad to hear it goes with what you imagined! It's amazing that he could describe things so well that so often we all see a similar Middle Earth!

I love that concept. It reminds me a bit of medieval Nordic or let's better say Icelandic and Greenlandic long-houses. All with turf divot roofs and everything.
Plus, your colour scheme is great. Warm greens, browns and greys can look so cozy and inviting when done right and you definitively nailed this effect. I can almost smell the scent of the wooden fire in the hut and the flowers in front of it.

That is indeed where much of the reference and inspiration came from! Both with my own rendering and with Tolkien himself when he described (and drew) Beorn's house.

I never knew Tolkien had so many talents. I mean, a scientist, novelist and calligraphy painter. But he also drew his ideas? Amazing!

Yeeeah air conditioning... indoor plumbing... All reminders of why fantasy and historical living should maybe stay there.

And I would suspect your best way for roof mowing is probably a bunch of tiny ponies. Just have to make sure your interior supports are nice and strong! Maybe goats if you can keep them from eating the wood work.
