Description Ivo taken August 2011, do not use without my permission!
Even in the backpool, he is still a star jumping.
I like how huge he appears here. Even though he is not my favourite dolphin here, his coloration is very beautiful.

For Woxys: I visit the zoo since 2007 now, and in this case I was just lucky, because I had no idea where Ivo would come up to jump as this was not in the show but in a little extra-training.

how do you do that? please, how do you set your camera, that you manage to get so sharp photos of them jumping? or do you have expensive lens, Lunchi, please? I am visiting Nuremberg soon and I am scared to get no good photos

no I still have my old lens from Sigma, that costed only 150 euros. It zooms from 50 to 200 mm.
I used the setting TV with ISO 1600 or 800 I think and shutter speed of at least 500.
I mostly go with this setting
I think with the lagoon being outdoor in the bright daylight, your photos will come out amazing there

cant you switch your camera to Manual focus from auto focus? That way you can decide yourself what to focus on.

I can, but I am extremely unskillful when it comes to this

I checked the photos and I was shocked to see at least some of them relatively sharp. Dolphins were so cool! But there were only TWO of them in the whole lagoon Moby and Noah were hidden somewhere outside the lagoon

oh thats strange. I already saw all of them together in the lagoon on photos.

but me too all of them have been already in the lagoon, at least in two smaller pools. The biggest pool was then entered by Moby and Jenny, while younger dolphins were shy to enter it. But now you can see only Sunny and Jenny in the whole lagoon and Moby and Noah were not in. I am 100% sure they were not in smaller pools, they were simply completely off the lagoon. I do not know why, I hope they are not shocked or sick

maybe it was just for training purposes that day. I guess they switch the dolphins around a lot from older pools to lagoon and back... they still have the dolphin therapy going on for little children and maybe Arni and Joker needed some company. Or Moby and Noah needed an extra training session, apart from the girls. Could have hundreds of reasons, I would not worry about it Maybe you are more lucky next time you go.

I hope so but lagoon is really cool, although a bit user-unfriendly, as you must walk hundreds of meters to get to a place, which is only some 4 metres from you *facepalm*
