Description People keep asking me about the tattoo on my left arm, so here’s a close-up.

The wolf is the original part of it; I got it done from a drawing of mine back at the Florida Pagan Gathering in 2007 (there was a permanent building on site sterilized as a temporary studio). I can’t for the life of me remember who the artist was; if anyone remembers, let me know! The wolf represents myself as a spiritual practitioner; Gray Wolf has been my primary totem from the beginning, and I generally show up as a white wolf when I journey.

The rest of the work is by Alice Kendall of Infinity Tattoo. It’s a portrait of Multnomah Falls—without the bridge. When I first moved to Portland in 2007, it was the first wild place I fell in love with. Sure, the lower part of the falls is heavily touristy, but further back there’s a wide extension of trails and wild places, and Multnomah was my gateway into the Columbia River Gorge that I’ve grown so deeply connected to.

So the entire tattoo symbolizes this wolf spirit within the wilderness of the Gorge, and the spiritual anchor that is the Falls. I would love to get more work done to it and make it into a half or even full sleeve.

Beautiful! Although I probably won't get any tattoos on myself, I enjoy seeing the artwork people have done on themselves. I really like hearing stories like yours, how the picture represents you or what it means.
