Description Finally got some new full hide headdresses up on the Green Wolf Etsy shop [link] ! There are a few foxes, a coyote and a coyote hybrid, and the javelina is back!

This batch reminded me of why I like working with damaged hides so much. While it can be fun to start with one in better shape, with little to no damage and all that, I love the challenge of taking a pelt that’s been chewed up, torn, and otherwise consigned to β€œwallhanger” status, and making it into something more dynamic. Each may have its own imperfections, but they remind me of the scars and healed wounds we all have over time.

It'd be REALLY cool to get a porcupine headdress.

*nods* I haven't worked with a whole porcupine hide yet; the only ones I've been able to find have been de-quilled.

One with quills would be pretty awesome, with the hooded look would be neat too.

Ohhhh, with antlers!
That'd be a very intimidating look, but hey it would....keep people off your back.

i love you so much for working with not so perfect pelts.

i have a wolf coming in next week who is literally falling apart. i will need to completely back him all over, and then i can work on him like i always do. i love being able to rescue those kinds of fur.

Oh man, that nigh-ote and javelina look so beautiful! If I didn't potentially have a black bear draining my bank account soon, I would totally be tempted! Gorgeous work as always!

WOW! That coy-brid looks stunning!
And I'm full of want for that javelina, Pigs have been on my mind lately, I recently unpacked a box that had an old domestic pig skull
You did some great work on these, I always love seeing what you have to share costume wise!

I don't know if it's the shape of the hide itself or the way you places the straps, but I'm amazed how well the javelina fits on the body. I'd never thought of a javelina headdress but it looks great.

Wow, that's very lucky! I can't even find mink stoles at the antique shops near me.

He was actually an eBay find, believe it or not! I usually avoid eBay, but I have one seller who sometimes gets some good craft quality coyote and fox hides.

Ebay is one of my favorite haunts. I like them for finding gemstones and mineral specimens.
