Description
We had a wonderful sunny day yesterday, and for the first time this year temperatures rose well above 20Β°C (~ 70F). So I spent almost 7 hours at Tierpark Sababurg watching the wolves and taking photos.This is one of my favorite shots from that day. Hope you enjoy!

I didn't really notice that, I like saw there were trees. But It never occurred to me they were in rows. I didn't how ever notice that there were no fences.

It is indeed his realm. A very mysterious wolf in a very mysterious environment. This almost reminds me of something you would see from fantasy.

The photo really benefits from the square crop, I must say. It is much more atmospheric this way than the original with the 3:2 aspect ratio.

I bet patience is really the best of qauilities when one is taking pictures of wild animals
Cropping and enhancing colours are good ways to better express the mood of a pic. You did a great job!

Yes, patience and understanding the subject.
I find it most helpful to know wolf behavior and be able to anticipate what's happening next.
Otherwise you would have to have even more patience and it would be dependent on being lucky.

I see. Wolves are pretty interesting animals, and I bet it doesnt hurts to really know them to take the best pictures.
So, what do you say about them? How smart can wolves be, in your opinion?
I ask because I really like these animals and I'm always so curious about them.

That's really hard to tell. But what I'm pretty sure of is that we are underestimating the intelligence of most animal species, not just wolves.

I totaly agree with you.
A lot of scientific work is made to try toassess the inteligence of animals, although its something very hard to determine. Also making a few surprises, these researches.
For example, hienas are astounishingly smart.
