Description
She used to lie awake all nightconsuming letters with voracity;
it was the utopian lair she created
to slip away from the turbulent world.
Only too soon she learned
that you can't always hide
within parchment crevices.
(reality always finds you)
Even now, when she yearns to fall between printed canyons,
she can't help but curse those passive and lethargic days;
"It's too damn easy to fall in love with words on a page."

Because that's exactly how I feel every time I read a really good piece of literature. Sometimes if it's really good, I'll literally feel the same chemical reactions I get when I have a crush. And don't even get me started on the description.

I'll be the 1000th person to say "Oh I know exactly how you feel," and "I level with you so much." You've heard that already, I know that. But that struggle, that recognition of the internal conflict between thinking and acting is what makes this piece stand out the most. A lovely piece, I really liked this one.

It does make me feel better...which is why I keep doing it. but I wish I could find another way.

We all wish for that in our lives. Especially those of us who write things like this because it helps let out some of the hurt. My suggestion is to keep writing, because it works for now, while looking for another outlet. Hopefully a healthy one.

I liked this poem. Writing about writing is always cool.
Why use did you use the word "parchment"? It makes the narrator's struggles seem unnatural or unreal (as people usually write with paper) when in fact they are.

I write about writing a lot, when I think about it.
Because I didn't want to use "page" more than once. And parchment works because the stories I read were always fantasy. Fantasy stories tend to have parchment mentioned in them. Plus parchment is cool to say.
