Living Lightning Lass [Lightning Lass/Living Lightning]
Real Name: Ayla Santozz
First Appearance: ALL-ADVENTURE COMICS #308
Born on the planet Winath, Ayla Santozz was returning from a party with her two brothers when their spacecraft malfunctioned. Attempting to reconnect the spacecraft’s wires, all three Santozz siblings were shocked into unconsciousness. Upon awaking, Ayla and her twin brother Garth found that the accident had imbued them with incredible electric-based powers. The twins discovered that they could transform their bodies into “living lightning”, fly at near-light speeds, and fire bolts of electricity. Their older brother, however, was nowhere to be seen and the twins came to the sad conclusion that he was vaporized in the accident. Ayla was invited to come to Earth and join her brother in the Legion of Galactic Guardians 2099 shortly after the team was founded.
The older Santozz sibling was not dead, however. He reappeared years later as a criminal under the alias of Mekt Schultzz – the Shock Lord! The anti-social Shock Lord possessed powers very similar to his brother and sister. Though not a metamutant, Shock Lord associated with the Legion of Evil Mutants for a period before traveling back in time to plague the modern-day Spider-Boy in New York City!
