Description My family's two new cats (who I have to stop referring to as "kittens" now). They're very energetic, good mousers, and cute as the dickens! (that's a strange phrase, isn't it?)

Khufu (named after an Egyptian pharaoh; it was my nephew and niece's idea ) is the orange one. When he was younger he was very shy and laid back but lately he's become a skilled mouser and hangs out in the kitchen, looking intently at the space between the washer and dryer for any prey. He also does this cool thing I've never seen any other cat do: When I hold my hand a few inches over him, he jumps up sort of like a dolphin so he can get petted. Unfortunately he never does this when anyone else is watching. It's sort of like One Froggy Evening ([link] in case you forgot this cartoon; shame on you if you've never heard of it in the first place!). He's very sweet but sometimes he's still a bit skittish.

Smudge (the white one with the black streak on his forehead, hence the name) however, has always been the rambunctious one. I'm lucky I managed to find a time when he was sleeping. He's always been rushing all over the place, and before he got neutered he scared the hell out of me by having a fight with our neighbor's cat in the middle of the street and almost getting himself run over! I had to save him and from then on I always got worried whenever he left the premises. He doesn't do it as much since he got neutered, but he's still pretty energetic. He used to be called Sneferu after another pharaoh, but Smudge was an alternate name and it stuck because it fit (and was also easier to remember). I wish I had my say in choosing an alternate name for Khufu. I would have called him Mimsie after the cat in the MTM logo ([link] ), it's a very close resemblance!

I love these two so much and I almost feel like a mother to them. It's very stressful sometimes so there's another reason why I choose not to have any kids of my own! The only being in our house who doesn't like them is Treeflower, the elder cat who has no relation to them and finds them a nuisance. Well, that's cat politics for you!

For those who miss Mimsie and any other famous people or mascots, I made this playlist with songs I believe paints the perfect tribute to them:  www.youtube.com/playlist?list

They are really cute. I've had three different dogs in the past. One was a delmation named Maggie, the other was a dog who had a huge spot and I called him Spot. He constantly got in the trash, peed and pooped on the floor, and ran out the gate and front door of our house. Right now I have a chocolate lab dog. Her name is Chloe. And for 4 years I had a beta fish named Kermit because he was a little green like Kermit the Frog. He died the night Nickelodeon first aired "IPromote TechFoots". I took really good care of him and so did one of my grandmas whenever we went to camp.
