Description A double "What If?" I came up with at least a couple years ago but didn't get around to doing until now.

Anyone who remembers the 90s (and most of DA does I'm sure) remembers those Bart Simpson Butterfinger ads. For the sake of the few of you who are too young to remember (or just plain don't remember... or just want to have a fun nostalgia trip), here: [link] Edjumacate yourself. Anyway, the campaign actually started all the way in 1988, before The Simpsons had even spun off from The Tracy Ullman show, but sadly ended after a joke in the 2001 episode "Sweets And Sour Marge" included a scene involving Butterfinger bars being unable to be burned, Chief Wiggum saying "even the fire doesn't want them." Although two episodes later Bart wrote on the blackboard "I will not bite the hand that feeds me Butterfingers", it was too late. It was the end of an era.

But suppose that last part hadn't happened. Suppose The Simpsons didn't bite the hand, or that Butterfingers took the joke as... well, a joke, and the campaign continued into the 00s? Well, I speculated that Hershey's would have eventually used The Simpsons' rivals The Griffins to advertise their rival peanut butter/chocolate bar: 5th Avenue. Ta-da! Inspiration!

So, we've got Chris (frequently cited as Bart's FG counterpart, although some would argue Stewie fits better since he's the cash cow "bad boy"... but I'm sick of him anyway) scarfing down that chocolatey, peanut-buttery taste... as Meg and Brian look on forlornly. Why? Think about it. Meg is allergic to peanuts, and Brian is a dog. Because of one ingredient or the other, neither of them will be able to enjoy a 5th Avenue (or a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, or a Butterfinger for that matter). So they can only watch as the fat one taunts them with his delicious product placement. Yeah, it's kinda cruel, but you know what? When doing Family Guy fanwork, you have to be a little cruel, even to characters you like (and I do like Meg and Brian!). It wouldn't be Family Guy otherwise! Don't fret, there's a lot more pro-Meg stuff in my sketchbook.

And in case any of you are doubting that any company would ever use Family Guy characters as tie-in mascots, well, you've obviously forgotten that three years ago Subway had Peter as a spokes,er, person for a short time (yeah, it's pretty obvious why it didn't last long, since the slogan wasn't "Eat at Subway and you WON'T end up looking like me! Eheheheheh..."). I'm planning on spoofing those too. Incidentally, I'm kinda disappointed Quizno's didn't counter with Homer Simpson going "Mmmm... toasty" (it's already their slogan for crying out loud!). More missed opportunities.

In case you haven't noticed, I haven't drawn Chris or Brian a lot. And I still need to work on mouths and hands. And earrings. And baseball caps...

Oh, and 5th Avenue > Butterfinger. Truth. FLAME AWAY!

I felt bad for Meg and Brian, and Brian looked kinda cute here.
