Oh my, I haven't submitted anything in quite awhile have I? Seeing as I have been busy with school I suppose that that's only natural to expect..Still, I have to say that I'm quite proud of this piece. It's my first attempt at semi-realism and it makes me want to try it out a little bit more in the future.
I wish I had a bit more to say on the matter but quite frankly I am very tired so I suppose that this will have to do. I hope you like it!

Oh wow! So colorful and pretty! I think the background is very well composed, and it definitely adds a great touch to this image.
Of course, the egg itself is very nice. I do think it is a little too light for the background, and there should be some deeper, darker shadows since the background is so dark.
Is the basket at the bottom part of the painting on the egg, or is it actually coming off of the painting and into the surrounding world?

It's mainly bright because it's an Easter egg. Easter eggs are normally bright colors. The fire flies add lighting. xD
And yes, the painting is coming out of the egg into the surrounding world (ex: Real world). Did my best to my capabilities to make it look realistic on the outside, however I may need more practice. =]

aww, it's gorgeous ^^ I love the bright egg/dark background contrast, it's great ^^ ....and the dude-in-the-egg-holding-a-basket-full-of-eggs is interesting
