Two Gwens now stood in the way of Charmcaster’s moment of triumph, an utterly unpredictable set of circumstances she had little time to respond to. But she had no intention of giving in, how could she when she was so close to having her way.
“Excuse me mistress, may I speak freely.” The humble knight of Charmcaster previously known as Kai said with hesitant determination to provide for her mistress.
“You may but make it quick.” Kai had a plan of attack, she was often praised by her grandfather for her quick thinking, and she was prepared to use it for the most important moment in her life, defending her mistress. Charmcaster adored the suggestion and set it in motion by telling all her slaves. Rojo was the only one the future Gwen had taken care of and so the rest of the mindless purple pawns made their way to the Gwens.
“I don’t understand. If you’re really from the future, don’t you already know what we need to do to avoid our fate?” Gwen showed great concern while Lucy remained in the background barely contributing.
“I wish I could but I only recently broke free from Charmcaster’s control and my memories from this time are… foggy. All I know is someone will betray me, leading to an ambush. After that all I remember are dream-like visions while under her control… It felt good… No part of me wanted to escape it until I was accidentally freed from it and returned here to save myself.”
“Someone betrays me?... Umm cousin Lucy? Not that I don’t trust you but…”
“You’re really doing this again Gwen? *Giggle* Remember the last time you accused me of being the traitor? I’m starting to think you have trust issues.”
“I’m sorry Lucy, I don’t want to accuse you again but… Hear that?” A small ripple scanned the air around the girls, the two Gwens noticed immediately but Lucy was none the wiser. With their magic glow they scanned all around until…
“Ahh!” Lucy was pulled by the leg by a shadowy figure who Gwen could just about make out as Frightwig thanks to her long, distinct hair. Lucy was swept away as the two Gwens followed.
“Hello Gwen, miss me?” Just as they were running to save Lucy, they turned around to see Charmcaster by her lonesome mocking the pair. “I’ll have you under my control soon enough Gwen, it’s only a matter of time.” Gwen wanted to advance on the mistress of magic, but she couldn’t leave Lucy all along.
“You can handle Charmcaster, I’ll go after Lucy.” The Gwen of the future despised the idea, but she knew arguing with herself would get them nowhere and reluctantly agreed, Charmcaster was the only real target anyway so after she was gone her army would tremble.
Gwen rushed after the should be easily dealt with clown before being stopped by the stretchy blockade of Ester. “Ester? So, you’re the traitor?! I’m sorry but I can’t go easy on y…” Gwen was smacked on the back of her head from an even more conflicting source, Julie stood behind her. “Not you too… Charmcaster!” Gwen said in absolute disgust to a person who would never hear it.
On the other side of the now frantically destroyed plumber base was the Gwen of the empty future chasing down the endlessly fleeing Charmcaster. “Stop running Charmcaster, this whole team was just to get to Gwen, right? So, fight me! I don’t know how you controlled me the first time, but I won’t let it happen again!”
“Then you’ve come to see yourself fail yet again, how adorable *giggle*. But sadly, I can’t fight you because… Psych!” Charmcaster’s form unfolds into a pile of mush revealing the real target future Gwen has been chasing to be none other than Lucy. “Was I a good distraction? Out of five how would you rate me *giggle*
Future Gwen erupted in flames of pink fury as desperately tried to retrace her steps with no clue where her past self-ended up at.
Gwen was now facing Ester, Julie and Kai. These were all opponents she was capable of beating but despite her insistence on not going easy on them she couldn’t help but do just that as more friends appeared to fight her.
“You always were too emotional for your own good. Can’t even beat a few measly humans and one stretchy alien, pathetic.” The real Charmcaster entered the scene.
“Charmcaster! I’ll make you pay!” Gwen prepared all her power in one would be devastating blast but before she could throw it, she, along with everyone in the room was teleported by Charmcaster to her base. “This is the base Ester told me about… What’s your game Charmcaster?”
“You should know by now that I don’t believe in fair fights… Attea, Looma!” Two large ships dropped from orbit as an army of frogs of war and battle hungry Tetramands stormed the battlefield, all ordered to take out Gwen Tennyson.
The anodite fought with all she had, taking out hundreds of soldiers at a time but every time she made her way to Charmcaster she was stopped by Kai. She knew the moment she fell to the ground she was done for so instead she used all her remaining power to fully awaken her anodite form, using her rage to race towards Charmcaster.
“Poor Gwen, you’re so predictable.” Charmcaster held her charm in the path of the surging energy being which instantly reacted and flew towards her like a magnet. Gwen made the crucial error of assuming how the charm worked, she figured all it took was her being defeated for it to work its magic, but she was radiating an incalculable amount of anger which drew the harmony charm more than simply being defeated ever could.
The collision course between the young sorcerer and the charm created a shockwave all through the area, flinging Gwen back down to Earth with Charmcaster now knowing how assured her victory was and commanding the armies to stop.
All Gwen’s intense emotions of anger were feeding back into feelings of pure bliss that she desperately didn’t want yet was becoming more and more comforted by. Charmcaster’s will was beginning to overwrite her own as she intensely struggled in silence as Charmcaster looked on in absolute pleasure.
“Where are you Gwen, I have to… Have to…”
“Oh, so mistress did it *giggle* finally! I can’t wait to serve with Gwen, she’ll be a lot happier this way.” Now that Gwen’s fate was sealed, Gwen had no reason to exist and was slowly disappearing.
“I… I failed…”
“Yeah, you kind of did *giggle* but look on the bright side, mistress is sure to give Gwen a great future as her undying slave and now that she knows about you, she’ll put extra care into not letting Gwen ever escape her trance, so you weren’t completely useless.” Future Gwen completely disappeared leaving Lucy ecstatic about the success of her mistress’s wonderful plan.
The melting of Gwen’s brain took nearly half an hour, she fought like none before her but had no backup from the outside world and thus ultimately had no chance of escape. Charmcaster caressed the still struggling yet unresponsive body of her most hated foe, excitedly proclaiming all the fun they would soon have. Gwen couldn’t hear the outside world, yet a slight smile still appeared on her conflicted face. It was only a matter of time now…
