During the first couple weeks of the summer where i was looking for a job and wasn't working was the only time i had to get any art done. This is one of the things i worked on.

I asked to color 's line art (original: [link] ) a few months ago and it had been bothering me that i hadn't gotten to work on it. I absolutely love this line art. She captured the essence of Mucha's style better than anyone i've seen before...and it was just begging to be colored.

Done completely with Prismacolor colored pencils. Prisma colored pencils rock...i would highly recommend everyone to try them out. i'm always inclined to color things on the computer and forget traditional medium like colored pencils, but everytime i do a piece with them i can't believe i use anything else. Once you get the hang of them prisma colored pencils really are amazing. The only bad thing about colored pencils is that they don't scan very well...so please excuse the crappiness of the scan.

i tried to stay in the mentality of the Mucha style. Mucha's style is realistic, but very simple. I really tried to keep this piece as much in that style as possible. After i completed it i even took a brown color and lightly added it to the edges to give it an antigued feel.

I never took a language in high school (that's a long story) so if the title isn't quite right, i'm sorry...please correct me if i'm wrong.
