When I first saw this, it reminded me of the Kuchi-Sake Onna in Japan, (literally meaning split-faced woman.). She is a ghost that is sometimes seen in Japan with a medical mask on. She was once a rich lord's beautiful and vain wife, and one day, the lord became angry with her, took his sword, and cut her mouth, saying, "No one will ever think you are pretty again!" It's said that she wanders the streets, asking if she is pretty, (watashi-wa kirei desu-ka?). Being polite, the person would say yes. She then takes off her mask, revealing the cut cheeks, and she asks the question again. If the person says no or runs away, they get turned (if female,) or are eaten (if male). If the are polite enough to say yes again, she usually leaves them in peace. The way to hold off a kuchi-sake onna is to throw a piece of fruit at her, so she is distracted by eating the piece of fruit instead of you. And I am so so sorry for rambling and leaving this loong comment, I just really like the kuchi-sake onna stories and looove you artwork.

this looks like a beautify cross between Batman, and the Dark Knights Jokers. The joker's girl toy from Batman, and her tragic end, but with that lovely self mutilated twist from the dark knight joker.
Batman aside, I do love the message here, what pains people will go to for the fading glory of the illusion of beauty.

Well as much as I love Dr. Quinn, ( And pray they get Jenny McCarthy to play her in a movie, talk about the role she was meant to play) I was referring to the first Tim Burton batman, with Jack Nicholson as the Joker. He had that girl he experimented on, and called her one of his works of art, she wore a white mask like that one to cover up the "art".

Well the original plan for the 5th batman movie, before they went with batman begins, was either going to be a movie based on batman beyond ( batman of the future in some places), or a movie based on Harley Quinn trying to get revenge on batman for killing the joker.
I've been keeping up with the news of the next film, and so far, things are not looking good. The director feels there is nothing left to tell about the joker or two face characters, even going as far as to say that two face is considered dead at the end of the movie. It seems as if we may be in another "We wont make another movie unless there is a story worth telling, and so far, we don't have one" situations.
While no official conformation of them even making a 3rd movie has been made, the buzz around the web is Angelina Jolie as Catwoman, Johnny Depp as the Riddler, and Philip Seymour Hoffman as Penguin.
