Description
The first of the free sketches! For ~forbiddenrace1 , who requested a baby dragon (and got a baby ember dragon).The pose was completely inspired by *slyeagle 's cat, who's not quite a cat yet and is therefore very intent on doing things like eating his paws and pouncing his own tail.
I tried doing something with the background... But nothing worked, which is why I ended up with lame-white. Alas.

This is so cute! i love the way you painted his/her wings and fin appendages, and nomming his/her leg is just so sweet. My baby brother used to suck his toe, he then progressed to his whole fist (lol thumbs are too small for him XD) btw are your requests still open?

I am still thinking about a way to design the shoulderblade for a quadruped draon with wings...and the legs...though a good design I found is the armadillo and opossum appendages. Really cool. And your pic is just..so wow....I dont know how you do that just like that. I love all your works!

What you may want to try looking at, in addition to the armadillo and opossum skeletons, is a bat skeleton. In bats, the shoulder blade is raised up from the ribcage quite a bit via the coracoid. I'd point you at a good image, but I have yet to find one online (mine is from an older bat book). If you could somehow combine the raised scapula for the wings and a short scapula for the forelegs (keeping the two separate, that is), you might be able to work something out. Maybe try narrowing and elongating the wing-scapula like a bird's a little. Not too much, because of the vast skeletal differences between birds and bats and the fact that you're trying to get another set of limbs in there. Just don't make a single shoulderblade for two limbs. If you do that, you're putting stress in too many directions on the bone, along with some other factors. Well, that's my opinion, anyhow.

Whihc just leaves the problem of the drawing of the wingpositions..hardest part IMO. XD the additional shoulder-blades could have evolved from the ribs on the back, right underneath the ones for the fornt appendages.
