Oh, the top you mean is the kimono? Because if so, sometimes appears that there are two layers because my cosplay is made of two kimonos, a white one inside and a black one outside, and as they are apart one from each other sometimes the white one appears more than it should appear xD

yeah, cool! I like illusions like that lol, but yeah one cool thing youcould do is make a false collar. They give the illusio of more layers without the actual extra layer
