Description

Two towers – two survivors – I‘m happy not having gone through this murdering disturbation of my current hometown during 2nd worldwar. Downtown of Hannover did’nt exist after massive bombardement in 1943. These both buildings you can recognize here in the middle of the foto  also could'nt come through  this bombardement without heavy destruction. They are symbol of reconstruction of seriously damaged historical monuments of town history of Hanover.

The green surrounding of these marcant towers of the “Kreuzkirche” and “Beginenturm (two of the eldest history buildings of town of Hanover from middle age and in our region) shall not cover war destruction…although only a few restored half-timbered houses in their neighbourhood are reminding of elder days before the catastrophe in 1943 today you have a modern typical northern unagitated but progressive atmosphere whose people living there and daily visitors have the history in their brain.

Location: "Kreuzkirche" und "Beginenturm" - Old town of Hanover (Altstadt Hannover) - Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen) - 21.07.2012
