This is my half of the Art Trade between me and ~SilverblazeknuxrockSee her half: [link]
OMG shoot me in the FACE @_@;; this took like 8+ hours to do
My Art Trades look better than my actual drawings XD
I really REALLY worked long on the background this time (Honest) and I know that gate looks like it's about to topple over (looks like a cardboard cut out to me lol)
If you see things wrong with this, PLEASE write a critique, in either the critique box or in a comment.
Or if you see things you really like, and would like me to continue to do comment/critique on that.

Noob Critique Time but..
You asked for a critique and here is one!
Vision:
Its clear that she is not very happy about what is beyond the gate, and is wanting to go and 'fix it' so to speak. Very good decision putting her behind a tree.
Originality:
The reason I rated lower, is because of two things:
First off its a little original because of the background but other people do ninja pictures too, but thats not too deadly in stars. The other one, is its not your character, and I'm all for requests and Art Trades, but with those two combined, it knocked half of a star off.
Technique:
Now here I shall say whats on my mind about the background.
The hill looks a little too blurred, it loses the grass effect in a way. The bottom part is more controlled in that way, but the blur is still heavy. The Tree's trunk looks a little thick, and not very tall. The leaves are pretty good, except for the blur ca be lightened up too. The gate needs some help. The perspective needs to go to a vanishing point more, and not be so curved. As you said in some places it does look a little like cardboard.(No offense) The metal bars are good. My main problem is the perspective with the fence. The right side of the bangs could be darkened a small bit, it looks a small bit flat and it should fade darker.
Impact:
Over all we got the message of that shes not too happy and spying on someone or something, armed and ready to attack if necessary.

Fair, actually, thats what came to my mind when i saw the drawing, especially considering the background and the blur, i suggest you cut off the blur a little in all your drawings as it ruins the awesome effect

The only thing I can think of that could've mad the gate better is not make it so vertical. It needs to be on more of a slant, and with more perspective (big on one end, slightly smaller on the other).
Because otherwise, it looks like it's standing straight up, or that tree is on one hell of a hill growing sideways. o_O
But the lighting is fantastic. I knew you were good but this is very, very good. Great.

Ya I knew that gate was a fail (I told you my perspective is always out of whack XD)
Shoot I was hoping to get the impression that the tree was more on a small cliff than a hill (or what is it called Plateau?)
And now that I look at it, the view of the gate IS a little severe and it would have to be on a curve to get that angle *fail* thank you for pointing that out to me

Also, I thought of another thing you could do to make the gate look farther away. Blur it a little that way it would be focused on the front character and tree; basically, an illusion. Dunno how exactly it'd look, but it's something I thought of earlier.
