commission for *avelacuna of her were-husky [??] character, verveine. from LAST SUMMER.this was the VERY FIRST commission i took. from anyone. and ave's been extremely patient with me, so a huuuge thank you goes out to her for letting me do this :]
it looks very flat and mucky on my screen. might try to pop up some things. the plastic-y texture of some of the leaves is making my eyes bleed. gonna fix that too.

Oh! This looks just like Venus on the Half Shell!
The pose isn't exactly the same, but it is so reminiscent, I wonder if it's just my imagination, or if it is a subtle allusion to the classic painting...

Oh.. oh my. This is just too perfect. I think I had originally suggested naked trees, but I'm glad you nixed that and made the scenery so beautifully autumnal.
I also love how feminine and delicate you made her, even her pointy parts are rounded and gentle!
I'm also quite happy that you managed to pull that off without the obtrusive bosom one sees all too often in anthro art these days...

oh god...you DID say naked trees. i think i had them in there originally then i didn't like them and forgot all about it. i'm so sorry!
umm yeah. remember all those old rough drafts i showed you? they were busty. and someone looking through my sketchbook said 'i get it- you're trying to make them look sexy.' i was horrified and toned things down a little bit :>
i think i do, but it'll take a little digging. i'll let you know. is it cool if i hold onto it until furfright [which you should go to so we can listen to cool music]?

I much prefer the pretty foliage over what I imagine the nakedness would look like.
And yes, if you want to keep it to show off and sell stuff at FF, go right ahead. My patience is near-limitless when it comes to art.
I'd like to attend, maybe, but it just HAS to be in my least favorite state in New England. Were it in Providence I'd certainly make an effort to go!!

RI is kind of cool architecturally (at least Providence is) and it's home to some of my favorite graffiti. Somewhere along 95, between the MA border and Providence... I don't know why, but I like it a lot.
I hate Connecticut's strait-laced olde-tyme New England air. Which is kind of odd, seeing as I typically like similar feels.

I live in Connecticut and I've personally never really gotten that feel from it, at least not any more than I have from anywhere else in New England. I guess it depends on what part of the state you're talking about though... Despite being ridiculously small, each corner is radically different from the others.
It's the rich, "New York" Connecticut that I can't stand :\

Whoaa, are you serious? Connecticut to me is a lot like Southwestern/central Massachusetts. I suppose I get that feeling from it as I live in a slightly more urbanized area.

The only parts of Massachusetts that I'm familiar with are Worcester and a couple of smaller towns that seem to be in the middle of nowhere.
I grew up in a relatively small town in New Haven county, so most of my experience is limited to the shoreline. I do agree, however.. parts of Connecticut are pretty awful. It's just the type of awful can very quite a bit depending on where you go
Haven't decided if it's worth sticking around or not yet...

what is most striking to me about this is how the environment adds so much to the character. they fit so very well together, like...ice cream and cookie dough. it's just a perfect combination. and the trees, the foliage, the little mushrooms!!! :gasp: I want to live there.
and the way the character is walking all sultry out into the clearing is sooo lovely. and I really like how you've drawn her body. very much how I'd imagine a were to look.

well i hate to speak for someone else but i definately think this is worth the wait! i love the soft colors and the quiet stillness of the picture. your art always makes me want to somehow jump into my lap top and walk through your sceneries. the character is so pretty and petite. i love her cute little feet ;;

Gooosh how I love the fluffy fur coat, especially the tail and the fur around the neck. The anatomy too, all those together make her look so feminine, so well done. Also the colours in the forest and all the little lineart and detail stuff there, the forest around the char looks so versatile. I'd like to wander there. ^_^
And also your art makes me want to try to paint on coloured papers. White gets sometimes pretty boring for some reason.

The pretty, silken looking sleek fur and then that wonderfully soft looking mini mane and tail... aww god, it's just so lovely!
I really love how airbrush-soft the markings melt into the white fur, and the autumnal forest she's walking through, like she owns the place!
