So I recently discovered this meme by and decided to take a crack at it with Tessa Brown - aka my very first autistic OC. (I'd also recently designed Tessa on the Fly Squad maker game by , so I just used that for the picture in this meme!) First of all, let me go into a bit more detail...
Earlier in Grade 12, I took a creative writing course, and for one of my assignments, I had to write a short story - and that's where Tessa, who's the daughter of one of the main characters in the story, came from. Tessa herself doesn't appear until near the end of the story, and while I doubt I'd ever use the characters from the story again any time soon, I thought filling this meme out might be fun and give me a chance to flesh out Tessa as a character.
As a neurotypical artist, I really appreciate having a template like this to help me create an autistic character. When I was writing the story, I also tried to do some research about autism cuz I didn't want to have my info way off *ahem* Sia, looking at you and the movie "Music"... *ahem* but overall, I think I did an okay job with the story - and I'm really proud of Tessa. I'm not kidding when I say I'd die for this girl!
