NaruShika - Stolen Love

Shikamaru woke up. The lazy genius knew something was wrong the moment he sat up. Naruto wasn’t there. The previous night Naruto and Shikamaru had a two-person party for Shika’s birthday. It had ended in a sleepover at Naruto’s house. They had (Shika blushed at the thought) shared Naruto’s bed because Naruto was stressing out about not being able to find a spare futon he ‘swore was there the other day’.

But the blonde teenager was nowhere to be found. As Shika padded through the small apartment, he could tell that someone had forced his or her way in. The door was hanging off its hinges and the apartment was a mess. Not that it wasn’t normally a mess, but it was worse than dusty and cluttered. The whole apartment was torn away at and it didn’t look like anyone was hiding that they had been there. The apartment was almost nowhere near repairable. It was in ruins.

The brunette made his way into the kitchen and picked up a drug bottle that was on the floor. “Well, that explains why I didn’t wake up. And the massive headache I have right now…’ He thought with a sigh. ‘Not very professional so it can’t be the Akatsuki, thank Kami-sama.’ He added. ‘But where in hell is Naru? … Naru? Wow, where’d that come from?’

Shika frowned. He pulled on a black form-fitting tee and a pair of sorts and his sandals and headed outside. The lazy nin disappeared in a whirlwind of leaves and wind. He reappeared in the Hokage’s office. “Tsunade-sama, we have a problem.” Tsunade glared at Shika. “And what can be so problematic that you can’t fix it yourself and leave me to finish all this murderous paperwork?” Shika sighed. ‘Troublesome women.’ “Naru…to is missing.” Tsunade gasped and stood up, slamming her palms down on her desk, causing it to crack in half under the pressure. “Why didn’t you say so?” She practically screamed. “Naru-chan is missing, Naru-chan is missing. Fuck. This can’t be good at all. How could he be missing weren’t you with him all night?” Shikamaru gave her a ‘will you shut up and listen so we can get him back’ look and said “I was drug- wait. How did you know I was sleeping over there?” Tsunade grinned evilly. “I have my ways.” She cackled in a fangirl type cackle. Shika sweat dropped.

“Uh… yeah … well I was drugged by whoever took Naru and I didn’t wake up until a couple of minutes ago with a major headache,” He added with a rub to his throbbing temple. “The apartment is in ruins. Whoever came had no intentions of hiding that they were there.” Tsunade frowned. She rested her elbows on a perfectly fine desk. How that happened, no one shall know. Tsunade intertwined her fingers and rested her chin on them and went deep into thought. “SHIZUNE! Get the best ANBU team in here, stat.” She yelled/ordered to Shizune once she came in. “H-hai, My Lady!” She replied and quickly left to find the best available ANBU team. “Shikamaru, go find any available genin that have reasons to like Naru-chan. Bring them here. We have a B-class mission on our hands, boy.” Shika nodded and left as quickly as he came.

~Naruto’s POV~

I woke up to the sound of someone wrecking havoc in my apartment. I looked over to Shika-kun who was still sleeping soundly, by the looks of it, and then to my pet fox, Kimiko, at his feet, who was up, ears lying back against her head. Well, the only two living beings supposed to be in the house were ruled out, not that I would have thought it to be them in the first place.

Footsteps broke me out of my thoughts. Kimiko stood and faced the door, growling, as the footsteps stopped at the door. The doorknob slowly turned. The door creaked as someone – something, for all I know right now –opened it painstakingly slowly. I gasped and my eyes widened a considerable amount. Gaara was standing in the doorway, grinning that grin he had when he wanted blood. His eyes said he wanted something else, though. “Gaara?” I questioned, not quite believing what I was seeing right now.

“Hello, ‘Ruto. Long time no see.” The redhead said with his grin widening. “What… what are you doing here? And… why isn’t Shika-kun waking up?!” I asked, starting to panic. Kimiko came up and licked my scarred cheek soothingly. I held her close. Gaara’s creepy smile still hasn’t left his face. He stepped into the room and started walking towards me.

“Oh, I already took care of him.” He grinned wider. “W-what do you mean ‘took care’ of him?” I was seriously getting scared now. The redhead laughed. “I put him to sleep. Don’t worry. He’ll wake. Maybe.” My eyes widened even more, if that was possible. “Gaara, y-you’re scaring me. Why are you doing this?”

“I’m doing this for you, ‘Ruto. Well, mostly for me, but you’ll benefit from this, too. I need you ‘Ruto. You’re my only precious person and I can’t stay away from my only precious person for such a long time. You’re coming with me, ‘Ruto.” He grabbed me by the wrist and I held on tightly to Kimiko, who grabbed her favorite toy, sensing this was going to be a long, tedious journey for her master. ‘This can’t be good.’ Were my last thoughts as Gaara transported us to Suna.
