In The Face of DeathIn the face of death I ask myself,
Is their anything I should fear.
Has my life been fruitful,
More importantly meaningful,
Or rather disheartening as death grows near.
In my mind I ponder the authenticity of my own,
Thirst to hold on to a life foregone.
Wondering how many more breath’s I will breathe,
How many more sunsets I will see,
Or, shall my time expire before dawn.
In the face of death I see flashes of light,
Illuminating the existence of Immortals.
As death grows near,
This utopian subjection so clear,
Commences to smear before my eyes.
Face to face now with my own demise,
I finally meet my fate.
This eternal life we all anticipate,
Has liberated me from a life of hate.
