Not much to say about it, other than this fawn was found in our yard a few years ago. Cute little thing.
Watercolours and pencil crayons on some thick white paper, which clearly was not meant for watercolours.
Back to work now, man my to-do list is huge..

For some reason the colours and composition are a bit mezmerizing, your eyes keep circling across the paper, from the gras, to the head of the deer, back to its body, then the grass again. The drawing seems very balanced out.. And its little head is so cute, I love fawns 
I can just tell by the way you painted it you had a lot of fun with the grass. Is that true? Long strokes can be so satisfying to make
Can you recall what tones of brown you used for the deer?
Anyways, awesome job, I really need to check out&comment on your other recent work, I seem to be neglecting devART a bit lately.

Yeah I tend to use a ton of colours in my pieces, you should see how many pencils I hold in my hand at one time. Usually as many as I can. xD

I do that too! But usually it is with charcoal pencils so I get confused with which one is the right shade. xD

Seeing this cheered me a bit as I saw something rather sad earlier that was deer related.
The little fawn looks beautiful. The fur details came out wonderfully. I also really love the way the spots look. They are quite beautiful. I really like the face, very sweet. I love how it is curled up in the grass and the way the blades fold out around it creates such a cool and peaceful atmosphere.
You said the paper was not meant for watercolours? How is that? It does not seem to have crinkled much (I am always in search of good watercolour paper) I generally paint on comic board. Gorgeous job cruel paper or not!

Mm the paper wasn't meant for water, so it warped a lot but it also began to sort of rub off. I tried lifting some colour from one spot and I nearly destroyed the section of paper, I had to be really careful.

The fur texture is just stunning! I love how smoothly the spots seem to flow into the fur. <3~
I'm a tard for saying this, but actually one of my favourite parts is the grass. I've never been able to portray it being all flowy-around-a-shape like this and it just looks so WOW. I love the range of greens and browns within it, and the lighting on it just gives it a healthy looking sheen. <3~ Beautiful!

this is beautiful work, this deer reminds me SO much of my dog, who is actually getting her teeth cleaned right now. she's an italian greyhound but she acts more like a raccoon/cat/camel/etc than a dog. anyway, this is really beautifully done, i love it!
