Description
This model of a heart-shaped diamond cathedral engagement ring, with accent gemstones, and unique prong setting, was designed by request for a friend on DeviantArt. The object consists of 9,602 polygons, and 9,592 vertices. There are no textures with the model, but all the parts have been UV unwrapped, and work well with any procedural material. I strongly recommend using physically accurate diamond or gemstone materials, and metals.There are three different OBJ versions included in the download, scaled specifically for import in particular software applications. Please refer to the import instructions at the bottom of the README.TXT file for recommended import instructions and guidance.***
You are free to use or modify this model as you see fit for your own projects or scenes. As with all my freebies, this model can be used for both commercial and non-commercial renders. You may NOT, however, resell or redistribute these models or textures, or any derivative of them; individually, or as part of a package/set.

You know, I don't think you would remember but it seemed you responded to an OLD post of mine from YEARS ago and I didn't even relize this prop i downloaded was from you
and with that I don't think i ever brought this to your attention
I used this Ring Prop and wanted to test how it would look in Luxrender
I don't think I acutally set it right ( didn't set the dispersion )
But i figured you would like to see it anyways

Great shader on the diamonds! Do I see some caustics there? Looks really realistic!
It's a pity, that you used not enough segments at the inner side of the ring.

Thank you very much! There may be some slight caustics, but lots of dispersion. I had a difficult time getting the caustics to pull out in the render, but there is a hint of them there. I agree about the segments. It could be subdivided, but I was trying to conserve on polycount a little. I think I could have spent more resolution on the rings though.

Just wanted to add, in regard to the modeling; everything here was modeled entirely from the ground up. I posted a couple WIP wireframes in my journal as I progressed, including one from the very early stages, about a week ago. Thanks again!

I was hoping I'd hear from you. Thanks! Yeah, I really focused heavily on trying to get internal faceting, and realistic dispersion with the materials here. The geometry of the model is not solid, but the topology used here (theoretically) works to help guide the material into faking the internal effects. I hoped the results would work well across various platforms and software. So far, I've seen some renders of it from a couple different engines, and seems like the results are behaving predictably well.
