Description
another school project! I'm going to explode into a cloud of viscera. I haven't gotten any feedback yet but here's to hoping my teacher won't tell me I should have rendered the fur realistically again. good god why would she ask that of me. After almost exclusively hanging out in furry online communities I kind of forgot people think of realism as inherently better than other styles. I'm going to have to wait a long while to get feedback on this one (end of the alphabet last name means i get everything last). Also, I finished this before I redesigned Myrith and Bune so their old designs are here. I've decided not to care. Maybe I'll fix it someday but I've already worked on this thing for WAY too long.
This is whole drawing is symbolic of Sheridan and Lavender's relationship with each other and their family. Lavender feels the pressure to be more like her mother and less like herself and thinks Sheridan has all the freedom to be themself. Sheridan on the other hand feels as if they aren't part of the family at all, they look nothing like the others and their appearance is clearly more like their father than their mother. So, while Sheridan feels as if they lack a true identity and so has to put on a mask just to get people to like them, while it seems like Lavender has been given an identity and a place in the family. To Sheridan, being a replacement is better than nothing because at least its something. Both of them feel overshadowed by the other, ignorant of the other's struggle and it's driving them apart.
