Lord of House Adrain of Southern Ocean ("Born" 2018; Adoptive) and Pirate Duke of the Southern Ocean

Emmitt Micah Prower, also known as designation Emmitt the Metal Koala or designation EMMITT (Enhanced Mecha Manipulating Informative Thinker Technology), is the eldest android and adoptive “firstborn son” of Sir Miles “Tails” Prower and Lady Marianna “Marine the Raccoon” Prower (née Adrain), Pirate Princess of the Southern Ocean. Emmitt is the older brother of his android sister, Elsa Prower, and the older “brother” of the couple’s biological children, Freya and Swell Prower. He is also the "cousin" to Mila and Haimish Isaacs, his hardware predecessor and software successor respectively.

After the success of creating the android lynx Mila Isaacs, Tails and Marine approached Katherine Robotnik and expressed their own desire to create their own android child for themselves. Robotnik was mixed about supporting the idea and felt there were a few issues with such an ask. Mila was intended to be created only for Shard and Nicole so they could have a family of their own where their android and AI status may have denied them. She felt conflicted in what part she might play in creating Emmitt.

Tails and Marine are a pair beyond their age in many ways. They are intelligent, already happily engaged and were actively contributing to societies as freedom fighters and through their individual roles in the tech industry and in "sea importation". They both were raised in the same abnormal circumstances where they developed the same emotional maturity beyond their years as most of their generation did. Tails was prior a Knothole Freedom Fighter when he was 10 years old and as for Marine, she was raised in a society where she was captaining ships by roughly the same age. However, they still were still only eighteen years old and she believed they "shouldn't really be having [any] children" at their age because of still being so young, but at the same time she had to console herself knowing that "they [weren't] having [real] children" at their age.

Tails' mother, Rosemary Prower, was the a source of opposition to this addition to the family. She would support her son through anything, but she was strongly opposed to the idea of having an android grandchild and remained conservative to the idea of her eighteen year old son starting any sort of family with his Ferian fiancée before their marriage they had planned for the coming spring. On the other hand, Marine's mother, the Pirate Queen Adelé Adrain, welcomed the idea of having another grandchild to someday command their fleets sailing on the Ferian Southern Ocean and Tails' father, Amadeus Prower, simply found the same consolation as Lady Robotnik did and while still a little mixed on the idea, he just went with it.

However, they revealed their initial designs, everyone was surprised by their true intentions. Tails and Marine chose a koala as the species with the pair stating that they are "adopting" their android son. Marine bluntly summed up the notion with "if [they] wanted a son made from the two of [them], [their] Founder's Day weekend would have been a lot more fun and a lot messier." While Adelé laughed heartedly and Amadeus smirked slightly at the comment and gave a shake of his head, Rosemary sat there with a rather disturbed expression on her face.

Emmitt's AI is comprised of a code written by Prower called ITT or "Informative Thinker Technology". It was a developmental software for computer personal assistant program at the time. His work in coding Emmitt's AI resulted in two separate strains of ITT code: a "higher form" used for Emmitt, Elsa and half of Haimish Isaacs and a "basic form" which became the personal assistant software used across all Prower Industries products.
Emmitt was activated in little over four months after his predecessor Mila on April 29, 2018. Unlike Mila, whose Power Gem Core is in her foreheard, Emmitt has his Power Gem on his chest.

When I initially created Mila and Haimish, I thought I'd only have only one pair of techno Mobians. I never thought that I would end up entertaining the idea that Tails and Marine would also have a pair of adopted androids of differing species they raise alongside their two biological children, Freya and Swell.

Now, when I was designing my first (of two) Koala OC's, I ran into a design challenge. In Sonic canon there are three notable koalas / koala groups I could draw on for reference: Barby Koala and Abby from Archie Sonic and the Coconuts Crew from Sonic Rush Adventure. Of those three, they have differing designs to some degree. Barby is a design that people do reference for how basic the design featured in the later comics is whilst Abby is a rather photo realistic even in her early appearances and the Coconuts Crew , probably due to being from the Sol Dimension, have these narrow, fluffy ears.

ALL of them are EQUALLY VALID design choices.

So I tried to aim for the attributes of at two of them. A bit of the "photo realism" while having a nod to the design of the Coconuts Crew with the fluffy ears and cheeks. Fun thing, I managed to find a colour palate that works for him here and while having a nod to his "mother" Marine by having the Orange in his appearance. I know that this is an android, but I guess it is also a nod to his "cousin" Haimish, who has bright orange hair due to a piece of ITT code that didn't integrate well with Nicole's code and it can't be changed without risking a critical crash.

Oh and I made the Adrain family crest - the closest thing I could find to the compass logo from the Sonic Rush Adventure logo paired with a pair of pirate cutlasses on displayed on a red field.
