Update: Same ship but changed the name from The Königsberg class to Odysseus as it just seemed to fit Andromeda's more "war in the heavens" or "war of the gods" style of lore.

The line of Odysseus class of Light Cruisers formed the bulk of the armada that protected and patrolled the Andromeda and Pegasus galaxies from Magog incursions as well as rogue Nietzschean raiders long before the rebellion. As the Glorious Heritage heavy cruisers and Siege Perilous battleships were primarily used by the High Guard, the rest of the Commonwealth had to “make do” with the lighter cruiser. The Odysseus was a basic ship-to-ship vessel with about 70% of the slip fighter compliment and armaments of that of the larger Glorious Heritage. While not exactly noteworthy it was able to withstand the brunt of many engagements but these were seen more as pyrrhic victories. This was made clearer by the eventual Nietzschean Rebellion where vast lines of Odysseus classes were wiped out to almost extinction.

According to Homer, Laertes and Anticleia were the parents of Odysseus. He was married to Penelope and they gave birth to a son, Telemachus. Odysseus was often called "Odysseus the Cunning" because of his clever and quick mind. Autolycus, his grandfather, was a famous skilled thief in the Peloponnese. The Romans transformed the name Odysseus to Ulysses and that is how he is mostly known today all over the world. Odysseus had a proud and arrogant character. He was the master of disguise in both appearance and voice. He also excelled as a military commander and ruler, as is evident from the role he played in ensuring to the Greeks the victory over Troy, giving thus an end to the long Trojan War. The journey home for Odysseus and his fellows would be long and full of adventures. Their eyes would see all the strange of the world and Odysseus would come home with more memories and experiences than any other person in the world.
