Before Vanitus was the monster he was, he was innocent. Darkness isn't evil, you see. He was just made with the curse of making Unversed. And then Xehanort got his hands on the boy...corrupted him. Just one more reason to hate the old man.

Oh, if he survives he'll most certainly go after Xehanort. He was as screwed over as anyone. He might also go after Aqua, Ventus. Maybe not Terra.

I view him more screwed over than most others. Consider the fact that he was born from someone's darkness with the ability to produce monsters from his emotions and is harmed in turn by killing them, the fact that he was 'raised' by a sociopathic madman to be his weapon, and that he was born in a universe that's pretty damned biased against beings like him. The only other people that have it just as bad as him are Xion and (probably) Namine.
