Cassandra was my father's present.One of his last presents, and for sure one of my favourites.
Now everytime I see her I think of him, and I am glad he could get to know her a bit.
He was the one who introduced me to photography. I felt the need of doing something for him, it might sound crazy or attention-seeking, but in reality I need to... I need to make something beautiful for him, something big, something gorgeous.
Because he deserves it, and because I need to put an end to this feeling of uselessness, of not having done enough to let him know how much I loved him, and how much I am proud of being his daughter.
This pic is neither big nor georgeous, but it is important to me because it is the first I was going to submit here on DA since ... ... "since". I have had a block towards photography since, even when I could "see" a beautiful scene I couldn't get myself to take the camera and actually taking the photo, nausea overwhelming me.
While today my Cassandra was so sweet I couldn't resist her too long. And I feel photograpgy is back for me.
So yeah, it is an important pic. I am back, but this doesn't mean I am over my dad... I will always love him and always miss him. I just can continue our hobby now, dedicating each one pic to him... even if just in my heart.
And being happy of the memories I have.
love you dad, stay close ps. As you (hopefully) understand this is rather a delicate topic, so don't say anything harsh uncalled for.

She is so beautiful! I think the ones that are polydactyl are best, bigger soft paws to walk silently in snow with... I am glad she got you back into taking pictures. I am sure your father would have wanted you to continue with it. *hugs* My father also got me into photography.

She's a Main Coon?

she's a maine coon
she's polydactyl, so she doesn't fit the stadards of pedigree for international shows... but I love her big paws ^_^

Awwww. She's adorable. She reminds me of my Maine Coon mix. He doesn't have as long of fur in his tail, but that's okay with me. He's perfect.

Non so bene cosa dire..solo che alla fine, noi, questi che rimaniamo qui in un modo o l'altro dobbiamo ricominciare a vivere e a portare avanti ,nel futuro quello che altri ci hanno insegnato, quello che altri hanno amato.

What a beautiful photo. I know just how you feel sweetie. I haven't done anything since my mum passed away. I'm trying to get back to doing what made/makes me happy but it's difficult. I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Stay strong and take each day as it comes.

It is indeed difficult to get back to life, without guilt for doing so.
In the end... it is just inside each one of us. It's up to us to decide when and how to get back.
