This was meant to be part of a bigger project, but I lost interest pretty quickly.Glad I (somewhat) finished it at all harrharr!

The ligthing here is just amazing, super subtle but enough to give this piece a slightly cheery feel in spite of the toned down colors. The way you blurred parts of this piece combined with the movement in her hair is also just perfect ~
Love her expression too! She looks so innocent and yet somehow kind of cheeky/mischievous at the same time~ super cute!
If I didn't read the comments tho, I never would have guessed that the theme you intended for this piece was symbolism for death. Ahh I feel so shallow for just focusing on how well this picture is put together I totally missed out on the big picture hngraahh

Maybe you struggled to finish it, but its not feel at all, its beautiful.
Young ones with dark wings, can be easily heart wrenching theme, but the story I see, to me, its a heart warming experience. Her smile with that hand movement, gives her this strong expression, like all she care about is to cherish one memory, even connotation of wings just doesn't matter anymore, she's fulfilled everything she wanted, no regrets. I would be glad to die this way in the end, but I'm afraid reality bites

I never considered how it might be interpreted, since I never finished the bigger project. I initially wanted to create a second piece with a lot more sinister and discomforting atmosphere and she was supposed to represent death in both its comforting and cruel ways. Basically the grim reaper if you will.
I did not expect it to be connected to a serene death by itself, so I had to chuckle when I read your comment.

And now that you told about the second piece, I even combined the two pieces, now I see two figures in the picture, so those dark wings are not belongs to her, those belongs to the grim reaper who descends behind her, now got a separated serenity/sinisterity

I thought you've said in your reply, that this one is like a guardian angel, and the second was intended to be the death of angel, like two different supernatural being. But I've just read fuanteinaas comment, and now understood you said the two pieces are the same figure, but with different mood.

I don't think there's a wrong or right way to interpreting it, especially since you couldn't have really known without the second piece that will never exist
And to be honest, that concept of the grim reaper descending behind her is actually far more interesting than what I had planned haha!
