Description My beautiful city has turned into a ghost town
Buildings look lonely
They just stand there
Hoping to be noticed
I drive around
Taking pictures
The air is filled with smoke
The roads look ashamed
They’re ashamed of their state
People peer out, hoping to be free
Where’s my freedom?
Why would one person want to change our lives?

The city feels lonely
Youngsters that roam its street hide away
Hoping to dance again
Hamra Street screams with anger
Where are you?
South coast of Beirut is naked now
Trying to stand still but failed after the constant rape

The South is lamenting its loss
While bodies convey a new space
The stench of death clouds my mind
I can’t look at the dead bodies anymore
My lens tries to focus, while my tears dry away

Anger is my motive now
Where is my beautiful city?
What have they done to you?
Where’s our freedom?

I can’t seem to find it under this wreck…
I can’t find a pulse…
Beirut, my lovely city
The South, a mourning land
Lebanon…tears fall down

i kno how u feel
it's a wartorn area no matter what era
the war in the '70's... the war shortly before!
it may look like a heap of dust but for me... it's my home..and it's beautiful

It's still beautiful and an amazing city, an amazing country

I can't see myself not walking in the streets of Beirut, especially Hamra Street.

When was the last time you visited Beirut? Glad to know you love as much

sdon't laugh at me but i have never been there
my parents were born and raised there, as lebanese armenians and their stories make beirut closer and closer to my heart... it's a beautiful and valuable place

Try to come sometime I'm sure you'll never want to leave...I've only been here for a couple of years and i'm in love with this place
