"What does your gem know about the Rebellion? Did they participate in it? How much have they heard about it if not?""Vesuviante, facet 50G, cut 4X, reporting in", the gem in the communicator spoke, crossing her arms as she formed the Diamond insignia with her hands.

Yellow Diamond looked away at the screen on her side and typed for a while before she spoke up. "What are today's reports?", while her tone and expression were, as usual, serious and refined, her voice sounded tired.

"It's- Uh... We..." Vesuvianite looked at the ground before meeting again with her Diamond's gaze, "we lost three gems today, my Diamond. We found them shattered alongside two cracked gems."

Dimorphite looked away from the scene and towards the room's entrance. Today's job was going to be harder than usual; she was used by now to report the different gems that had been poofed, and the occasional gem that had been cracked during a fight. The worst kind of news usually revolved around a hijacked ship or a failed plan, but the news of shattered gems were... almost new.

It had been happening more often as of late, now that Dimorphite thought about it. In the last weeks, she had to inform gems of the loss of two or three gems, but three in one day was something unheard of so far. She couldn't help but wonder if the war was just going to get worse from here on out.

"..." Yellow Diamond glanced once again at one of the screens before looking back to the green gem, "Were you able to recognize the remains?"

"Just two of them, my Diamond. An envoy and her sentinel, as stated by the reports".

Dimorphite looked back at Yellow Diamond, surprised. No envoys were supposed to go into the battlefield today, were they? There was, to her knowledge, no messages to be sent to any soldiers...

The Diamond seemed surprised by the news as well. While Dimorphite couldn't see her expression, her stern tone made it clear for the gem that she did not expect such an answer, and her question seemed more like an order to the gem on the other side of the communicator: "Who was it, and what were they doing there?"

"Th-" Vesuvianite seemed afraid to give the full answer, looking away to meet with her teammates' gaze before speaking up again, "the sentinel appears to be an Aventurine, facet 6K, cut 59D. Based on the sentinel's information, we were able to determine the envoy used to be an Ullmanite, facet 3F, cut 2ND".

Dimorphite stared at the gem on the screen, her eye wide as a plate. She recognized the envoy's data; she knew who that gem was.

From all the envoys she'd ever met, Ullmanite was the last one she would have ever expected to hear. The kind, shy and easily-scared gem whom she'd been with since they were created would never go to such a dangeous place, would she?

"My team is currently investigating the reason for their presence in the field," the gem continued, "but we are still waiting for the potential witnesses to regenerate".

Yellow Diamond sighed, "Very well. I shall be waiting for a more extensive report on the subject". Before Vesuvianite could finish the salute, she had turned off the communicator, "Dimorphite".

Dimmy stood in her spot for a few seconds, trying to process what she had just heard. It just didn't make sense; the idea of a gem like Ullmanite going into such a dangerous place, specially considering what had happened to the rest of her team-

"Dimorphite." Yellow Diamond insisted, and she finally reacted, "Go inform Blue Diamond of the current events". The yellow gem held the bridge of her nose, irritated.

Dimorphite walked towards the door, her expression now cold, almost inexpressive. As she left the room, she heard her Diamond's exhasperated groan, but she couldn't care less.

She had a lot of thinking of her own to do.

So hey! Remember this little comic I did some time ago?

I started by explaining the third one! What a mess! Yaaay!

We'll see how to explain the rest, I have tons of stuff planned for Dimmy's backstory!
But yeah, back during the war, Dimorphite didn't ever set foot on Earth. For a gem such as herself, it was a far too dangerous place to go to, so she never had the chance to see what the fight was about. Even if she does know of most of the events that took place during the Rebellion, she tries not to think about them; they brought nothing but chaos no matter what was the reason behind it all.
