Description
So I finally decided to upgrade from Fedora 7 to 9, and I'm loving it. In the process I went ahead and did a clean install. I'm still liking the aftermath shot by kowoolo, so I decided to make yet another shot with a few modifications. Anyway, details below.XFCE4 | Fedora 9 | Compiz-fusion
Apps:
gtk: me (base mist and pixmap engine)
emerald: me
tint: me (as you can see I decided to reverse the transparency so that the tasks are transparent, lol)
carrier: ( pidgin fork, made some small icons, nothing special and added some transparency with compiz and removed the border as well)
rox-filer: with all black icons
edit: name says it all, its a text editor
gxine: background equalizer image i made to sort of match, once again nothing special
firefox
xfterm
xchat
font: lime
Well, I think that covers everthing.

Very cool. How did you get the tasks in tint2 transparent? I tried several things but northing seems to work.

I don't understand what you mean? Xchat looks this way out of the box almost, all I did was was right-click and hide topic/menu. Changed the colors/fonts in settings and that was all.
Could you be a little more clear on what you want to do and I will show you.

no no, i meant a sane distro or other opensource os that perfs better, like opensolaris

I've used about 40 different distro's in my 8 years of using linux/open source OS's and fedora is without a doubt the best I've used. I have 4 OS's installed on this computer alone and I still always try new ones, but nothing has even come close to F9. 
I use arch and debian on my other computer and I have windows xp on another computer just for testing purposes(cant avoid the dark side).
