nice work on the aircraft.
btw, figured out what version this aircraft is.Β this is Douglas SBD-5 Dauntless.
US. Navy had a weird naming convention for prop aircraft.Β Β They give it a name and model letters and count off the revision numbers.
There were 14 versions built.Β Β There were 9 versions built during WWII starting with SBD-3 starting production in 1941.
dauntless aircraft ended production at SBD-6.
the poser model you mentioned (I looked it up)Β includes two models, D-3 & D-5.
the Star with a red dot are the SBD-3 1941 versions, pre war issue.

Thank you β¦ they all still feel like Poser renders, because one doesn't have to leave Poser and use Octane standalone at all. It's just like having an extra window in Poser, like the library browser.

Octane standalone? the tests I've done stood within Poser, not you?

Lol...
One question: have you any idea when their V2 will be available?

Nope β¦ and it won't be a free updateΒ

I'm waiting because I'd like to buy a license and I prefer to wait for V2 directly.

Nice, and the Dauntlesses are instantly recognisable (at least to the air-brained like myself).

Likewise, well except that I still have that hobby and am now in my 50s.

Is it based on an actual make of plane?

Yes, the modeller doesn't say it in the "read me", but it's the Douglas Dauntless, used as a scout and dive bomber from aircraft carriers and air bases in the Pacific in WW2. If you type the name into Google image search there is a lot of pics.

OK, I just wondered. Old planes look so much more elegant than modern ones.

Thank you β¦ turned it b/w and added a bit of dirt/stains with Photoshop to make it look "older"

Thank you It's an old one, the promos are Poser 5. Search for "dive bomber" at Renderosity marketplace.
