btw, figured out what version this aircraft is.Β this is Douglas SBD-5 Dauntless.
US. Navy had a weird naming convention for prop aircraft.Β Β They give it a name and model letters and count off the revision numbers.
There were 14 versions built.Β Β There were 9 versions built during WWII starting with SBD-3 starting production in 1941.
dauntless aircraft ended production at SBD-6.
the poser model you mentioned (I looked it up)Β includes two models, D-3 & D-5.
the Star with a red dot are the SBD-3 1941 versions, pre war issue.

Thank you β¦ they all still feel like Poser renders, because one doesn't have to leave Poser and use Octane standalone at all. It's just like having an extra window in Poser, like the library browser.

Yes, exactly, within Poser. The Octane standalone just needs to be installed on the computer so that the Poser plug-in can access it for the scene setup and render. In other words, the Poser user doesn't need to use the Octane standalone, but it is there in the background...

Thank you ⦠my familiarity comes from being into assembling models as a kid and a lot of them were WW2 related. I used to read about the history of the models I built and WW2 in general⦠but that is over 30 years ago, so a lot of it has faded and I now need to look things up

Yes, the modeller doesn't say it in the "read me", but it's the Douglas Dauntless, used as a scout and dive bomber from aircraft carriers and air bases in the Pacific in WW2. If you type the name into Google image search there is a lot of pics.
