Welcome, friend! That may be true that it's silly to those that can throw away some cash, but gotta remember most people can't afford big monitors. I only have a 20&1/2 inch monitor and I know even that's "silly" to the most "common". I wouldn't have even got it except my 15 yr old 21' CRT finally died, so had no choice. I still do find the statistic not easy to believe, though, since most people do things according to today's standards, but again maybe most people there are only CRT monitor owners, and again most images may even be older ones.

That's probably how most people use screens. They use them until they break or the picture becomes unusable. I had a 19 inch CRT for about 10 years and got my first flat screen in -07 or -08. The CRT still worked fine but the LCD was so much easier on the eyes.
As you say, a lot of people can not afford to upgrade at their leisure (or have other priorities), even in the U.S. or Finland, which both are at the top end of prosperity charts. It's pretty safe to assume people in most places can afford it even less. That could explain the surprising stats. Another explanation could be that they are not that reliable

lol guess I got the biggest resolution according to these, got mine set (default) at 1920x1080. It does surprise me too lol. When I did buy this monitor though, I took advantage and got the biggest one on sale, now I'm wanting to get an even bigger one lol, got me spoiled
