it's mostly just xion that gets the (entirely misguided) hate i think, because she unfortunately resembles a lot of mary-sues at the most basic description of her role in the story (14th member of organization 13, best friends with axel and roxas despite the fact we've never heard of her before, can use the keyblade, etc.)

the hate is of course misguided because squeenix made it work and made xion into a fucking amazing character through the power of BACKSTORIES THAT MAKE SENSE

I just liked her from the moment she first interacted with Roxas, she was such a sweetheart, and since Roxas barely remembered the Org and most of the members barely knew her, I felt it worked

prrrobably another reason was certain akuroku shippers being like "ew what a bitch she's getting in the way of my PRECIOUS YAOIS" even though there wasn't even anything to get in the way of because literally no ships are canon in kh

yeah, most ships anyway, I still think Kairi and Sora will most likely end up canon.  And even my little sis's called her cute and adorable, and they were 9 and 5 years old

i think nomura's outright said that no ships will ever be canon, though i don't remember when or where he might have said it o-o

but it would make sense, given that the series' main theme is friendship. it's a good move imo to not have any relationships tread into romance in order to give more focus on the platonic love between characters

i dunno man they kinda have that going with sora and riku too

like when kairi led sora to riku in twtnw sora just kind of broke down crying on his knees because he was so happy that riku was ok
and maybe i had shipping goggles on or something but they seemed hella gay for each other throughout the entirety of dream drop distance (especially at the end [SPOILERS AHEAD IN CASE IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED IT YET IDK]
when yen sid announces the results of the mastery exam and sora just does not give a single fuck that he failed, he's too excited about riku passing
[END SPOILERS])

sora imo just has a ton of compassion for everyone around him, which happens to spread more heavily towards kairi and riku because, obviously, they're his best friends and there's probably no one else in existence that he cares for more (except maybe his family but it's hard to tell since tHEY NEVER SHOW UP)

I meant because the paupu is basically like saying you wanna date someone and also the dancing scene in KH2 and of course I would even be happy for my friend in that scenario, especially all the bad crap Riku had been through and finally something good happening

Its their numbers in Organization XIII.  Axel is 8, Roxas is 13, and Xion is 14.
