So pretty! Your color use, the shading, even the little highlights of pink light on her armor! Eeee!

This is a great start, especially for a days worth of work. Some things I can suggest things that will improve how it reads if you are interested is:
For the Background, take it up in value and group it together value wise with a large wash (gradient), with it light, and the figure dark the figure will read in space.
Try to stray away from browns where you can, opt for a color shift instead, to keep the chroma up and surface interesting.
Here it looks like you can roll with a blueish for the shadow, and rim light, and on the light side a warm orange for a complimentary color scheme.
Vary the surface to imply texture, rips, tears, knicks in the tusks (scribble a lot, this is awesome for fun, and makes texture randomly as it would occur in nature), after you scribble, keep what you like, paint over what you don't.
Pinch the shit out of the highlights and choose them sparingly. Pay extra attention to the light side, use less white, its easy to turn chalky (sometimes overlaying a solid color over it brings back its saturation). For FX,s theres a ton of cool stuff you can do with Layer Channels, playing around with them can really give you some unexpected wins.
Pick something to play up and have everything support that. Here you can play up that magic ball of energy, what happens in the magic? Is there sounds that are being made? if so what are the sounds? Is it violent? Is it at the beginning of the end of the channeling spell? Decide on this and really push it so its the most interesting thing to look at and make it the focal point (brightest/saturated part), really control our eyes. If that was happening over her hands, think about how the light would envelope and bend around them, like how the sun does to silhouettes when we look into it, its brilliant and makes us want to squint.
