Athea is the name of the planet that Kiki lives on. It has two moons. The larger moon is Gai and the smaller one is Ter. Their year is 372 days and their weeks are 6 days long. The current year is 3102. The average level of technology is steampunk, though some areas can be quite medieval. Magitek technology is abundant. Approximately 30 sapient races live there and includes these races (some races are further divided into sub-races):

Some races are more technologically advanced (such as humes, Burmecian and Bangaa), some have intermediate technology (Moogles, Elvaan, Tarutaru, Lalafell), medieval (Dwarves, Gnomes, Ronso, Nu Mou, Goblins) and tribal (Tonberries, Moombas).
