skyblade was originally a flyer, although he's always tried to hide this as it is a sure sign of a Decepticon, when he was young, a group of autobots found him abandoned and took him in.
since autobots did not have the technology to build himt he right frame, he never got his wings, and instead decides to hide the sign that he should have them. this is why he uses a black shield on his back during conditional freedom
