it's turned into a war zone.red versus blue, green and independent.
people are controlled by their churches and their peers:
screaming one-sided arguments at each other:
we want privacy, no more terrorism,
abortion is murder, death to all gays.
they don't understand:
no one takes the time to understand
each other's views.
why can't they get it, that you don't
have to let other people or religion make your choices,
that you don't have to be straight to be in love
that not all Muslims are terrorists,
that not all communists have bad intentions,
that by constitutional law, you don't have to be a white Christian man
to be elected president of this country.
the world is such an intolerant place:
in the schools we teach that it's never okay to be a bully,
but that doesn't seem to help in the real world:
people are dying everywhere simply because
they believe in something different.
something more.
we are all people on this earth. we each have the right
to think and say and to believe in what we want.
we have the right to be tolerated,
and the responsibility to tolerate each other.
look at the world:
look at what it's become.
and all we need to fix it is
tolerance.
