...except now I think of Han Solo when I look at this guy, mainly because the singer Steve Miller did a song called "Space Cowboy" which practically describes Solo to a tee, and the original concept for Solo WAS a big green monster guy.

I do some work in RPG publishing, so I see a lot of monster drawings. Tons of them. Scads, even.
The sense of mass here is perfect. He has actual weight and it comes through nicely. He's a pretty standard archetype, but the weight, the size, and the stylistic elements (like the way the eye is rendered) help keep him from seeming cliche or overdone. For what is, in essence, a deep one he's very recognizable and the color choices fit well together.
I'd love to see him emote.
All in all, I say good job.
