Sins.Taste the rainbow.
Done for Color Illustration class taught by Alvin Pettit, our assignment was to portray the the seven deadly sins any way we wanted.
I could of just done one piece with all the sins in it, but being the masochist that I am, I decided to do seven separate pieces.
In Illustrator.
I wanted to go for a 1920s Art Deco feel, with different women in different rooms that "represent" the sin they're portraying.
Envy - Room of Pin-Ups
Sloth - Room of Pillows
Vanity - Room of Mirrors
Lust - Room of Sensual Statues
Gluttony - Room of Desserts
Greed - Room of Treasure
Wrath - Room of Shatters
This took a lot longer than I expected, but I'm thankful it's finally done. I could've done a bit more with Vanity and Lust, but maybe I'll go back to those another time.
I think my favorite has to be Gluttony. Doing all the ice cream and pastries were fun :3
But I'm not doing vector illustration again for a looooong time. Unless recommended.

Interesting designs, for each sin. They're both rather cute and accurate. Plus the colouring's very fitting, for each sin.

I really like what you've shown here. By putting the sins in their story telling environments of similar color scheme and body positions, you really captured the humanity of these downfalls. Very few of my friends did not give a perfect imitation of your Envy illustration. Great work and congratulations on completing your vision *diligence award*!

Tbh, I think I have ALL the sins! (regretfully)
Lust: Like all other girls out there, I have a guilty pleasure for reading smutty fanfics, especially the ones that are so passionate and poetic. Just thinking of them make me heat up!
Β Greed: As a cosplayer, I do tend to want to buy a lot of things in order to make my costumes. A lot of the times, I use my parents accounts to order stuff online. Sometimes I lie too that I don't have any money when someone asks me if I do.
Sloth: Let's be real here, NONE of us like to do our homework or study for finals. And I'm not really afraid to express my opinions about it. Whenever I get back home from school, I immediately turn on my computer instead of doing homework.
Β Gluttony: I used to eat so much junk food such as chips with sour cream, until I began a weight-loss diet. But then after that, I constantly eat a few snacks after school.
Envy: Sadly, I always have been low on self esteem for a long time now. I often don't like my mexican heritage, my somewhat fat appearance, and my brown hair matching with my eyes. Sometimes I wish I had paler skin and was as thin as a toothpick. I really wish I had blonde or red hair with blue eyes.
Wrath: As an introvert, I get quite annoyed by loud people in class, especially the ones where they won't shut up. And when my beagle begins to bark, I immediately have the urge to punch or spank her.
Pride: I'm a well known artist with some people with both my family and my friends at school. Whenever I see someone with crappy-looking drawings, I'll admit, I silently laugh at them and think "Is that really the best you can do? I'm better by one in a million!" (Sorry)

I wanted to puke seeing gluttony with a room full of sweets. Having too much sweet stuff not only gives you diabetes, but also damages your eyes (the blood vessels around your eyes are very small and sensitive, adding too much sugar will cause those blood vessels to burst, and once they DO burst, prohibit their recovery) and your brain (although the brain uses up around 47% of our entire body's amount of sugar, having too much would damage brain cells)......Β

Gluttony looks cute and she has a sweet tooth (for some reason, she reminds me of Ed from Cowboy Bebop), so we would definitely get on.

No, Vanity and Pride are different. Having pride is not always the same as vanity. Pride in work, being, in others, and what not is different than vanity. They are not interchangeable.
