There was a TV series called The Hitchhiker, the episode called Shattered Vows had a man who married a wealthy widow, only for his voodoo lover to kill his wife.
She did it by the bride/groom decoration on top of the wedding cake where she put a cover on top and had the wife suffocate via voodoo while the husband had a scuba to keep him from dying.
The wife's black bird then escaped from the cage and went after the decoration. He scratched it and it cut open the husband with blood protruding out. Same with the eye.
The bird then knocks it over, it shatters, then he shatters.
Creepy episode.

I had a Russian Grandmother and she had a myriad of dishes and pots with these designs on them. I think she called them gzhel (sp?). Beautiful body painting, very nice subject for a set of pics.
