Description
This is a chain of short stories about their distance , if you watch them successively you will really taste a great movie atmosphere.The name "5 Centimeters Per Second" comes up from drop distance of the sakura flowers in one second, it drops 5 centimeters per second.
Part 1 : The Chosen Cherry Blossoms (26 minutes)
Part 2 : Cosmonaut (21 minutes)
Part 3 : Centimeters per Second (16 minutes)
A tale of two people, Tono Takaki and Shinohara Akari, who were close friends but gradually grow farther and farther apart as time moves on. They become separated because of their families yet continue to exchange contact in the form of letters. Yet as time continues to trudge on, their contact with one another begins to cease. Years pass and the rift between them grows ever larger. However, Takaki remembers the times they have shared together, but as life continues to unfold for him, he wonders if he would be given the chance to meet Akari again as the tale embarks on Takaki's realization of the world and people around him.
I really suggest watching the movie , it is really perfect and romantic.
Also this movie is a visual feast.

this film was so beautiful, emotional and it felt realistic, not all romances end with a happy ending! i cried constantly!
takaki and akari represented first love
kanae and takaki represented unrequited love
and the ending represented moving on with your life whilst holding all the memories you had.
Has anyone seen the manga version? I dont have one physically but i have read it online, apparantly their is a extended ending!
kanae goes 2 tokyo to find takaki to tell him how she feels!
it ends on a cliffhanger where takaki and kanae see eachother, they meet, then it ends..........does that mean there is an actual romance beginning with kanae and takaki and that the fact they were meant to be?????
i would 2 know anyone's interpretation!!!!!

I remember seeing this when I rented it on my PS3. My favorite part was seeing the rocket lifting of in the distance.
That alone was simply visual genius.

This movie is a masterpiece. Not only the story is emotional, but the art is stunning. It's a masterpiece in art! If you got a sense of beauty of art like mine and do appreciate detailed oil backgrounds, just watch the official trailer or the first 2 minutes. You will get stunned. Special visual effects such as lighting and reflections are also stunning.
Again, this is a masterpiece!
