Jessica Alba2b Graphite pencil on DR heavy weight paper
While waiting for several oil paintings to dry i have gone back to finish some drawing.
I think using a 2b was a mistake its just to soft.

Not has long as you think, when you start slowing down and really look for detail, thats when you will make your next leap forward.

Oh yes the devil is in the detail. even the smallest fly away hair can bring it to life.

my pleasure !! althow i got one question...why does most of the people always use tissue for shading? ...i experienced that this works well indeed but that if you try to do your shading's and specially the fading's with the right "pencil pressure" they become more alive and its possible to lay more local accent afterwards where needed ...i only use a 9B and sometimes kneeded rubber ... but reconsider that it stretches your drawing time with 40 hrs or soo...but the difference is also 400 hrs of joy afterwards ...this one took me about 90 hrs or soo....lol

Oh yes your right tissue blending is kind of flat at times on its own.I only use tissue for a first wash of graphite then upper layers are pencil blending only.

exactly.......i only use a soft pencil , pressure ...and ofcourse a kneed gum ...that's a must 
And if i may ask , what are Q tips?

Thanks for the help, q tips or cotton buds are the things you clean your ears with little plastic sticks with cotton wool on each end.Lots of people use them for small areas of blending

Good work, I think the softer pencil makes the picture more subtle. I like the hair - I'm still struggling to master this discipline.
