Description this image is a flash animation incase it doesnt loop or play.. just click on it and then click again with the right mouse button and click on loop and play..

program - photoshop
camera - canon 400D

main concept is to edit the contrast.. make the bright areas less bright and make the dark areas brighter..

STEPS:

0. is the original image

1. duplicate the layer of the image.. and make it brighter from image>adjustments>levels.. work on the middle arrow dont touch the sides..

2. duplicate the original and make it darker in the same method of step 1.. put the layer on top

3. duplicate original and make it even darker.. put it on top.. erase the areas that dont need darkening with a blurred eraser.. those areas are like the face n stuff.. here i just wanted to darken the background..

4. make a new layer.. with a big blurred brush.. brush over the edges of the background.. to darken more..

5. a little more

6. duplicate the original image.. put it on top.. erase everything except the t-shirt.. with blurred eraser.. then darken the shirt with the levels thing..

7. copy the eyes dark retina from the original image.. and past it on a seperate layers and put it on top.. increase contrast.. play with levels a bit to make the highlightes a bit more obvious.. and erase some parts of it that makes it looks weird .. i mean just touch it a bit the the eraser to make it fit and not looking like its copy-pasted

8. lighten the neck a bit or any areas that needs to be lightened.. u can do that by either using the levels and copy pasting and erasing the parts u dont need or just sellecting with a feather that is high like 50 or more and playing with the levels.. but id go for copy pasting and playing with levels coz its better for editing and u can control the area u want to brighten in a better way by erasing what u dont want..

9. now to add highlights to the face.. copy paste the face from the original image and make its layer on top.. then increase the contrast soo much that the face becomes black and the highlights are whight but ofcourse dont make it so severe that there is no gradiation.. now make the layer option as screen.. and reduce its opacity as desired..

10. is not really needed but what i did is like step 9.. but less dramatic..
