Description My piece for this weeks CHoW on conceptart.org. Lolth, a demon queen of spiders from the sixty-sixth layer of the Abyss, known as the Demonweb.

Had a lot of fun with her, also i wish i had more time

Very nice. Oddly makes me remember the Borg Queen from Star Trek. Both were very stylish, sinister, alien, intelligent, malevolent, and coldly arrogant seductresses bent on world domination.

love the texture, most of the time you find her with a very sleek look with the Black Widow spider this is different and it works.

I've seen pictures of this character by different artists. Is this from a book or something?

There are many, many books that are set in the Dungeons and Dragons world that use this character. One of the most popular series is by R.A. Salvatore with the drow Drizzt (look up Forgotten Realms) -- Lolth is supposed to be the goddess that the drow worship.

I've actually only played it once, because I don't really like playing RPGs all that much, but my brother got me into the Forgotten Realms books and I like those.

First i think a spider body with a womans torso is nothing new in the fantasyworld and seen pretty often. But this particular character is from Dungeons and Dragons as far as i know. I didnt know this too when i read the brief and started the challenge

Centaur are a tricky thing to pull off as one trys to show as much human as possible and still get a good transition to the animal body. I really like how you tryed to do this witch the spotted skin but still she looks more like emerging from the spider not being a part of it. The rest is just marvelous.

Thanks!! You are right about the transition, was not really happy with it myself, but ran a little bit out of time. But i'm sure it was not the last centaur i do, so there will be a chance to do better

Yeah it's my favorite video game, a dark fantasy RPG.
There is a boss you fight that has a similar design to this with more feminine features.

haha it's ok you did a great job on her without knowing who she was. I want to see what I can do with her sometime but rigt now I am to busy with other things.
