Description
My first Sesshomaru!!!! I did it some time ago, and I can already see some proportional errors. Crap. That puts it back in the "to be reworked" pile. But, nothin' says I can't show this early version here! Enjoy!
The scene is just one of a private moment where Sesshomaru bathes in a waterfall. As the water strikes his palms, he's fascinated by the play of light and movement in the water through his claws. No wars to fight, no child to look after, no challenges to be met. Just an apex predator having a relaxing moment....
The image is dark because I just photographed it rather than scanning it. I'm lazy today...

The lighting makes it look like it's night time. It's a cool looking effect accully. I like it.

Water is hard to draw, and you did a marvelous work with it!

As for water, yeah. Pencilling water can be a bear. Especially getting enough detail that you can tell what's going on. Surprisingly, for me, bigger ocean waves are harder. They just don't look right....but I can't yet tell why...

I left it off. Back when I drew this, I didn't know that Takahashi had said that the fluff was "part of his body". But even if it was, I suspect he could remove it.
Remember the movie "Golden Compass"? In that film the little girl as accompanied by an animal that was the embodiment of part of her soul. But she could be separate for short times and distances. I think this may be something like what Takahashi envisioned for the fluffy thing. In some way, the two are separate, but one being.
At least this is the best explanation that covers all the bases, given what Takahashi said.

I like playing in water. What a marvellous substance! Absolutely transparent, absolutely necessary, can be hard, can be soft, can be warm or cold, can deprive you of life and yet it's so necessary for life. You can overdose on it, drown in it, drink it, swim in it, and cast it into ice cubes. It makes great water slides, but it can also be used to increase friction. It falls from the sky, trickles through rocks, becomes a vapor, a liquid, and a solid. Here in the US, the Great Lakes represent 1/4 of the entire world's supply of fresh water.
To a creature like Sesshomaru, water is an essence, and in some cases can have a youkai life of its own....
Cool stuff to think about...And the day I drew this, I wondered what he thought of water....

Water is the savior and the destroyer. It's almost kin to God. Which is a great way to describe Sesshomaru since he can save or take your life. And he thinks he's God. xD

Heh. All the hot guys I knew of in high school didn't look down on me. They just didn't notice me at all. I was utterly invisible. I actually kinda liked it that way.
As for the proportions, one shoulder is too narrow, his forehead and the shape of his "skull" is weird; there's something wrong about the size of his head, and I have yet to be happy with his hips and his ummmm fundoshi....
I'll eventually figure it out, and when I do, I'll get it properly reproportioned and inked. I think that would be nice....

Yeah. I was noticed and bullied in high school. Lack of confidence always brings the boys running, scenting blood, kind of like sharks...ah memories...
I cant wait to see it fixed and inked. He's just smoking hot. So hot. There is a photographer here on DA who has plenty of male bodies to ogle to work on the proportions, if you need a reference. I think his name is :vishstudio:
